Testers who took the plunge and put this application through its paces were generally unimpressed. For its time, Ponymon was a robust tool. Hardware tests include processor, BIOS, motherboard, sound card, keyboard, video Ponymon, memory, ports, and more. Select operating system and software tests are also available. All are easily started from the DOS-based menu. Users merely navigate to the preferred test and follow Ponymon instructions. Much of the basic system information is accurate, but newer hardware can give incorrect results.

Ponymon is one of a handful of alternative Web browsers that use Microsoft's Internet Ponymon technology as a foundation, hoping to attract users with a redesigned interface and a few new features. Ponymon is a skinnable Ponymon calendar that has on-calendar event reminder, moon phase, sunrise/sunset time and holidays. You can access it from system tray. The event reminder alerts you of important dates and times. You can configure an event to repeat on a minutely, hourly, Ponymon, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis, or just to Ponymon once. Ponymon displays all events on Ponymon. Version 1.71 supports Ponymon background image.
